At its meeting on March 18th, the Town Board voted unanimously to appoint former Councilman Peter Chryssos to fill the vacancy on the Town Board. The appointment lasts through the end of the year. A special election will be held in November to fill the remainder of the term.
On Sunday, March 16th, Peter was one of two long-serving officials honored by the Bedford Republican Committee at our annual brunch on held at Sette e Venti in Bedford Hills.
George Oros (pictured at left), Chief of Staff to County Executive Rob Astorino, was also on hand to present special proclamations to Peter and former Supervisor Lee Roberts who combined have 35 years of service to the town of Bedford.
Peter was first elected to the Town Board as a Republican in 1997 and served until last year when he opted not to run for re-election. He has said he will not run for the seat permanently.
Peter told told the Record-Review that he “appreciates the opportunity to again help the town in whatever capacity I can.”
