Bedford Hills Community House
74 Main St, Bedford Hills, NY 10507
Our special guest is Joe Dillon, candidate for State Senate for the 37th Senate District.
Joe has impressive credentials.
He is a nationally recognized communications, government affairs, and corporate strategy expert with over twenty years experience in both the public and private sector. Currently, he is the principal of his own consulting practice and advises a number of firms, political candidates, and policy organizations on crystallizing their brand and positioning with key stakeholders in the media, major funding community, and policy arena.
In the wake of the financial crisis, Joe was retained in 2010 by the Clearing House, the payments utility owned by the 20 largest commercial banks whose CEOs make up its Board, to develop a strategic marketing and communications plan and build an external affairs department to engage in the debate on Dodd Frank.
In 2012, he advised two Presidential candidates and Governor Scott Walker on his Wisconsin recall election. Most recently, he has been sought out for his emerging markets expertise to advise on a project designed to dramatically improve the quality of urban educational choices, standards, and outcomes as a catalyst to propelling urban America forward as the next burgeoning emerging market.
Previously, as former Senior Vice President of Global Policy for Visa, Inc., Joe launched the strategy to break into the China market, which turned into a WTO case that the U.S. won. For over a decade at AIG, he worked for the CEO on global, federal and state affairs and managed the company’s emerging markets business development strategies. At the U.S. Department of Treasury, he served as Chief of Staff to the Under Secretary for Domestic Finance and represented the Under Secretary with senior level constituencies on Capitol Hill, at the White House, and across the interagency system.
Joe received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and his graduate degree in International Affairs from Columbia University. He lives in Bronxville, New York with his wife, Rachel Woods Dillon, and their three sons, Charlie, Hugh, and William.
Joe will tell us more about himself and discuss his plan for the campaign.
